Why is there conflict?

This is my first entry as I begin my blog about mediation and how it has changed my life and can change yours too. Whether you are dating, married, going through a divorce or have been divorced, I want you to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Your story is not unique. Your situation, though, is your own and it might have different characteristics than someone else’s story, but in the end, we all end up in mediation for the same reason...breakdown of communication!

Why we have conflict that needs to be heard and mediated? The parties feel one or more of the 4 D’s:

Dismissed
Disenfranchised
Disrespected
Dis-valued

Mediation is a place where you can have a voice and take charge of your own life and situation. Do not surrender your power to make decisions in your life to an attorney or a judge. As I share my experiences and different stories with you, I know that you will find comfort in the fact that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

As we continue this journey together, I will be sharing about my life and how I became a conflict resolution specialist. I will continue each entry sharing about my personal life and experiences in mediation so stay tuned.

iChat Mediation invites you to come and learn more about having either your divorce conducted by one of our State Supreme Court Certified mediators or how you can become part of the most cutting edge virtual companies in the world. In the words of Lawton Chiles, “I didn’t come to stay, I came to make a difference.”
